- Scope
Remodel of the Westfork and Clearfork buildings on the Trinity River Campus in Fort Worth. The project consisted of new and existing air handling units, fan-powered boxes, and 275 SoHo electric fan-boosted linear terminal units (LTUs).
Air Balancing Co. worked closely with the owner: Tarrant County College District, mechanical design engineer: JJA Inc., and the manufacturer of the SoHo LTUs: AirFixture, to coordinate the testing and balancing of the underfloor LTUs. To prepare for testing and balancing of the LTUs Air Balancing Co. built a mock-up of the underfloor plenum and calculated the free area required for AirFixture’s calibrated mesh to accurately deliver the design airflow for each unit. To accommodate such a unique unit, we developed and manufactured custom capture hoods to accurately measure the airflow allowing us to ensure that the design intent was achieved.
