Tarrant County COVID-19 Emergency Response RETURN

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the facilities management team for Tarrant County reached out to Air Balancing Company to determine the highest building flush rate possible while still being able to maintain indoor air quality and building pressurization.

Each subject building’s HVAC equipment was evaluated to determine how much additional outside air could be introduced to increase the flush rate. Testing was conducted to ensure that the elevated quantity of outside air could be properly conditioned (temperature and humidity) so that the building occupants remained comfortable.

Adjustments to the HVAC system yielded, on average, a building flush rate of fewer than 60 minutes; a 300% increase over the original flush rate.
