Scope

Air Balancing Company was recommended to Giles W. Dalby Correctional Facility as industry experts in testing smoke purge systems for correctional facilities to ensure the facility will pass the Texas Commission on Jail Standards Life Safety & Emergency Equipment inspection.

Project Notes

After the contract with the Bureau of Prisons ended in June of 2022, the facility moved forward with plans to convert to a county jail with sufficient capacity to assist with overcrowding issues in other county jails.

In order to open as a county jail, the facility is required to meet the Texas Commission on Jail Standards.

Air Balancing Company was brought in to perform a complete system survey of the existing smoke purge system including general exhaust, smoke exhaust, and makeup air equipment. Once the survey was complete, Air Balancing Co. guided facility staff on required system modifications necessary to pass the Jail Standards inspection which included replacing multiple exhaust fans.

Air Balancing Company was committed to the success of the project and worked extended hours and weekends to ensure that Giles W. Dalby Corrections Facility had satisfied the requirements to pass the Texas Commission on Jail Standards Life Safety & Emergency Equipment inspection.
